Bachelor of Social Services
The Bachelor of Social Services is available to students with recognized skills, knowledge and experience - as a counselor, career practitioner or in the wider field of social services. People with substantial experience in one or more of these fields may be able to obtain all or part of this degree via assessment of prior learning through Capable NZ. To help us assist you please work through the tool below.
Please note, to apply for the ILP process for the Bachelor of Social Services (Counselling), you need to have at least 3 years in a role titled "Consellor" with regular supervision from a counsellor or member of an aligned profession (please note that line-supervision does not count). This can sometimes be less if you have qualifications in counselling such as a diploma or certificate. If you are in a current counselling role but less then 3 years combined experience and/or relevent or related skills, the Work-based Learning pathway may be for you.
